Pop-up beer gardens are continuing to bloom in neighborhoods all over the city this spring and summer.
The Point Breeze Pop-Up, the city’s newest beer garden from the folks behind South Philadelphia Tap Room, American Sardine Bar and Brew, debuted this past weekend with the Wheat Beer Fest 2015.
The pop-up beer garden — a first for the Point Breeze neighborhood — calls a transformed empty lot at Point Breeze Avenue and Tasker Street home, specifically 1622 Point Breeze Avenue. Throughout the summer, the neighborhood haunt will pour craft beer and cider from a number of taps. Food from a rotating roster of food trucks will round out the consumable offerings.
The beer garden will be open on Thursdays from 4 to 10 p.m., Fridays from 4 to 11 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 11 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 10 p.m. through September 7. Guests can also look forward to a number of special events throughout the warm months.
A portion of proceeds from the pop-up will benefit Fair Food, an organization that aims to put healthy food on the tables of all Philadelphia residents.
