This Memorial Day Weekend marks the return of the super popular Spruce Street Harbor Park and the debut of RiverRink Summerfest at Penn’s Landing. (Photo by M. Edlow for Visit Philadelphia)
Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of summer, has arrived and with it comes all of the summer fun we know and love in Philadelphia — think outdoor shopping, famers’ markets and (drumroll, please) the return of Spruce Street Harbor Park and the Visit Philly Beer Garden Series.
It’s opening weekend for Spruce Street Harbor Park, the ever-popular seasonal park on the Delaware River Waterfront, and RiverRink Summerfest, the first-for-Philadelphia outdoor roller skating rink and waterfront park. This weekend the parks welcome a show from DJ Jazzy Jeff (Friday night at Summerfest!), face painting, live entertainment, cool shopping on both Saturday and Sunday and plenty of eats and drinks.
Tonight, the Visit Philly Beer Garden Series returns to celebrate opening night of Spruce Street Harbor Park with deals on craft beer at the pretty waterfront park.
Also this weekend, the National Constitution Center offers free admission on Monday and Independence National Historical Park rings in the weekend with special tours, ceremonies and more.
We are ducking out a little early today to celebrate the holiday, but be sure to follow us on Instagram and Twitter for the latest updates — and visit us at the Visit Philly Beer Garden Series return at Spruce Street Harbor Park tonight.
Read on for our guide to this holiday weekend.
