It takes two to tango, but let’s face it some pairs have better moves than others.
This week, you can watch some of the best dancers in the world strut their stuff and share their expertise in Philly.
The 5th Philadelphia International Tango Festival returns today, Thursday, May 28, and runs through Sunday, May 31. This year’s festival will be the biggest yet, with world-class performers including the magnificent Gustavo Naveira and Giselle Anne.
The festival will offer 25 workshops, including multi-day series and one-off seminars. Dancers of all skill levels are sure to find a class suited to them. Events cost between $15 and $40, and tickets can be purchased at the door.
When the sun goes down, Tango Festival headquarters Christ Church Neighborhood House will come to life for nightly dance parties complete with tango DJs and some of the most exquisite performances this side of Buenos Aires.
The four-day event is produced by the Philadelphia Argentine Tango School (PATS). You can view the entire schedule of events online.
