N3RD Street Farmers Market Returns To Old City Today And Every Wednesday, May 27-October 28

As of today, the Old City neighborhood can head to market right on one of its charming cobblestone streets.

Returning for its third season and continuing through the fall, the N3RD Street Farmers Market will run every Wednesday — yup, this year it’s on Wednesday — from 2 to 7 p.m. on the quiet thoroughfare of Church Street between American and 2nd streets.

With the scarcity of grocery stores in the area, neighborhood organizers (namely Indy Hall and Christ Church Neighborhood House) saw the void as an opportunity to bring a weekly market to the area and provide fresh, local and sustainable goods to the denizens of Old City.

To launch the market three years ago, they lined up a handful of vendors and the market grew right into its "for the community, by the community" motto.

This year, the weekly event brings tasty goods to the neighborhood every Wednesday May 27 through October 28. The selection of market vendors includes such growers Beechwood Orchards and Birchrun Hills Farm, as well as awesome local food makers like Soom Foods (with the rich tahini used by Chef Michael Solomonov), Side Project Jerky and PB & Jams.

And that’s just a smattering of the offerings. Throughout the season, marketgoers can look forward to lunch service from noon to 2 p.m. (starting June 3 with Hocks N Coqs), monthly pop-ups from the likes of Federal Donuts, dinner collabs, live music and arts.
