Never too early to prepare for next year’s lawn, says our resident Eagles analyst ~BROZ…. and indeed, his employer Drafttek agrees.
The pieces of sod are already being laid out to be installed for the playing field of the 2016 NFL Draft.
What ~BROZ just participated in was Drafttek’s first 2016 Mock Draft. It was conducted under the premise that 2016’s draft order would be not identical to that of 2015, but fairly close. In that sense, it is a pure hypothetical.
~BROZ did the best he could as the Eagles picked at overall No. 22 in the 1st Round. Here is his comment:
“We had Ronnie Stanley (LOT from Notre Dame) right until the very end, and then we got screwed, when at the last second I got stuck wiff OLB Myles Jack (nh), whom Chip would never draft, due to shortness.”
Myles Jack is not the worst thing the Eagles could end up with in the 1st round in 2016.
Jack is a highly rated prospect. At 6-1 and 225 and after two great seasons for UCLA, this guy could end up an outside linebacker or a running back in the NFL. Or sadly, he could be a bust at both positions. I don’t know for sure. Obviously ~BROZ saw value in the pick.
~BROZ: “Well, it’s the first week of June, so we all know what that means: 2016 NFL DRAFT!!! First up for the Eagles is UCLA OLB/RB Myles Jack. This guy was actually voted PAC-12 Freshman of the Year on offense AND defense in 2013. A true 2-way player, Jack is the kind of guy that could dominate at the college ranks, but then struggle to find a true NFL position due to lack of size (6’1″ 225 lbs). ~Broz, Eagles Analyst”
None of this will make much sense to Eagles fans until you go over the list of top talents expected to be available in the 1st round of the 2016 Draft:

As you can see, Drafttek has the Packers winning it all in 2015…. and also, note that the New England Patriots do not get a 1st round pick in 2016 due to the bashing of the Pats for that silly brouhaha over a slightly underinflated gaggle of footballs in Tom Brady’s Easter basket.
The true value of this hypothetical and premature draft is we as fans get a jump start on getting to know the names and schools of the prospects in the pipeline. ~BROZ and his fellow analysts at Drafttek will eventually flesh out the remaining rounds of the 2016 Draft landscape. In the meantime, we have a temporary diversion from the vacuum of meaningful Eagles and NFL news right now.
