It's time to celebrate the weekend, arts and urban nightlife as another First Friday arrives in neighborhoods throughout Philadelphia on July 3.

Vampires, burning wood, ice cream, and art are just some of the pre-holiday treats up for display. While a number of your staple haunts might be closed in preparation for the Fourth of July, there are plenty of more revolutionary choices.

Remember, beyond our picks there's tons more action on arts corridors in Old City and Fishtown, in particular.

Listen to songs of independence at the birthplace of it all as the Philly Pops! perform the annual Pops on Independence show, a free concert for Wawa Welcome America's July 4th programming.
