Here’s a quickie rundown and review of recent Wisconsin political stories. WONDER BOY FAILS WONDERFULLY On Monday at 5PM Walker dropped out of the race. Well, technically he “suspended his campaign”. This LA Times cartoon sums it up for us. And this cartoon by Phil Hands sums up the average Wisconsinite’s response: Tomorrow's @WiStateJournal cartoon more »

Video: “Walker’s critics celebrate, supporters reminisce …”

Despite having no more than a few hours notice of the 5PM press conference announcing Walker’s drop out from the presidential campaign, protesting Wisconsinites were ready, able, and willing to serenade Wisconsin’s delusional governor. This TMJ4 footage includes just a SNIPPET of protest singing. This brief broadcast also includes snippets from Wisconsinites who do not more »

Gawker seeks details on “a very bad story” connected with Scott Walker

It seems that both Republican communications operative Liz Mair and a writer with Buzzfeed are hinting about either the same scandalous story or differing stories that is/are related to Scott Walker – but neither is releasing the details to the public. Frustrating. Gawker is asking readers to help spill the beans completely. Gawker is providing more »

Wisconsin State Journal only employs white people

I’m embarrassed that I’m so late to the party on this issue. I learned this yesterday and promptly felt like puking: “..the Wisconsin State Journal, the newspaper that proudly proclaims itself “Madison’s largest reporting team,” the second-largest newspaper in the state and the newspaper of record for our entire region, is an all-white newspaper.” SOURCE: more »

The backlash on Bernie Sanders begins!

Despite the fact that this [barely functioning] blog has tried to be Wisconsin-centric, I’m going to try to do some more posts to help people keep up on Bernie Sanders news. —————————————————-   It appears that the establishment and its candidates have decided to quit dismissing Bernie Sanders and start attacking Bernie Sanders. If Walker could see past his enormous ego, he’d realize he’s in 7th place and has no chance

Scott Walker only has 2% in the latest national ABC poll. The average of Scott Walker’s national polls put him in 7th place according to Real Clear Politics. The Republican Party only needs 1 nominee to run for president. I suppose it’s very difficult for a megalomaniac to quit looking in the mirror long enough more »

The Eagles also announced their Practice Squad signees:

RB Raheem Mostert
LB Deontae Skinner
OL Brett Boyko
TE Chris Pantale
CB Randall Evans
OL Malcolm Bunche
WR Quron Pratt
S Ed Reynolds
DE Brian Mihalik
WR Freddie Martino

The guy you don’t probably know much about is  Chris Pantale — Pantale is the only player on the practice squad who wasn’t previously a member of the Eagles. The 25-year-old tight end originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets in 2013. He dressed for five games with the Jets in 2014. Pantale played for Boston College, which is where current Eagles quarterback coach Ryan Day used to coach. Pantale most recently spent training camp with the Chicago Bears. He measures in at 6-5, 254 pounds.

Okay, at least Mostert passed through waivers. We’ve still got a chance to enjoy this kid’s development before some other team signs him away. .. We already lost that young TE project Eric Tomlinson to Houston, who snatched him away quickly upon waivers…

Now about this young QB prospect Stephen Morris…

Morris went undrafted out of the University of Miami in 2014 and spent the season on Jacksonville’s practice squad.

In the recent preseason for Jacksonville, the 23-year-old quarterback completed 23 of 42 passes (54.8 percent) with one touchdown for a 79.7 passer rating. The Jaguars released him Saturday when they opted to keep just two quarterbacks, starterBlake Bortles and veteran backup Chad Henne.

Morris was a two-year starter in college for the Hurricanes. He finished his college career with 49 touchdown passes and 30 interceptions. He passed for 3,028 yards his senior year.

As a true freshman at Miami in 2010, Morris appeared in six games with four starts. He finished the season completing 82 of 153 passes for 1,240 yards with seven touchdowns and nine interceptions. As a sophomore in 2011, he appeared in five games with one start. He completed 26 of 37 passes for 283 yards with two interceptions. As a junior in 2012, he entered the season as the starting quarterback and started all 12 of the Hurricanes games.  On September 29, 2012, in a game against NC State, he set the ACC record for passing yards in a game with 566.  He finished the season completing 245 of 421 passes for 3,345 yards with 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions. As a senior in 2013, he passed for 3,028 yards and 21 touchdowns. He finished his career with 7,896 yards with 49 touchdowns and 30 interceptions.

He’s 6-2 and weighs 220 pounds.

If you want a cheesesteak but you’re in Germany, what do you do?

Over the past several years, we’ve occasionally on this page asked the question: What do they eat instead of cheesesteaks in other countries? Along the way, we’ve tasted several notable international variations on the great Philadelphia sandwich; the epic Portuguese franceshina and the...
